Nestled on a family farm overlooking Traverse Bay, Alec and Sophia’s wedding day was filled with love, laughter, and breathtaking moments. The Morning: A Calm Start with Cuppa Joe’s and Coffee

The day began with a good cup of coffee and an even better bagel from Cuppa Joe’s (a local favorite)—the perfect way to kick off a wedding day. My associate shooter, Shannon (also my mom), and I enjoyed our morning caffeine fix before heading off to the groom’s Airbnb, just around the corner.

The natural light pouring in from the windows made the space feel like something out of a photographer's dream. Alec and his groomsmen, dressed in sleek black suits, looked every bit the part of a timeless wedding. Alec’s excitement was palpable, and it was clear from the moment we arrived that he could hardly wait to marry Sophia. We captured a mix of candid shots and posed group photos, and I always love the candid moments the most—there’s something so raw and real about those, where you can truly feel the emotion of the moment.

After spending time with the guys, we headed to the family farm for the ceremony. Across the street from a bison farm (yes, you read that right!), the farm had the most peaceful, idyllic setting, and it was the perfect backdrop for Alec and Sophia’s special day.

We arrived at the charming white farmhouse where Sophia was getting ready with her bridesmaids. The house had a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the energy was equally warm.
