My love for photography began at a young age when I received a Hello Kitty camera as a birthday gift. Fast forward through playing with disposable cameras and Poloroids to highschool, where I received my first real camera for Christmas and began photography class.  I loved capturing the world so much that I went on to take advanced photography classes and joined the Photography Club. During this time, my teacher encouraged me to submit some of my photos to the Scholastic’s Art and Writing competition. I felt honored to show my work alongside other creative students and receiving an honorable mention, 4 silver keys, and a prestigious gold key for my photos pushed me even further to learn more about technique and editing. Another honor was spending my senior year as Editor in Chief of the highschool yearbook. I was capturing classroom activities, sports games, awards ceremonies, and our spirited student section. I was also getting parent requests for private shoots of student athletes and senior photos.

After highschool, I attended Oakland University and I applied for a photography position on The Oakland Post, an on campus student run newspaper. I was thrilled when I was hired and immediately began to contribute to articles and even many covers of the newspaper. I was gaining clients, as well, and added lifestyle photography of families and couples to the senior photos I had been taking. As I grew busier, I decided to switch majors to photography. Upon discovering my previous experience exceeded what I would be learning in my college classes, I decided to start my own photography business. I know this is my passion and my calling, and I haven’t looked back!
